Calliope's Kids: Not surprising, since this group of hamsters were housed together for so long, Calliope surprised us with little pink bundles of joy on 5/31/03. The proud Papa is either Sunny or Fuzz. We expect that these guys will have their moms exceptional temperament and mellow personality. Right now they are VERY cute! We believe they will turn out to all be Long Haired. They will all be looking for homes when they are old enough to leave mom. Please contact NICHOLE if you are interested in giving one of these little guys a great home. |

These hamsters were part of a group of 9 who ended up at a humane society. When no one was interested in adopting them, they were given to a bird of prey refuge to use as food for the birds. Thankfully for the hamsters the birds were not interested in hammy-snacks, and so they found their way into rescue.
This group of hamsters was origionally housed all together in a small cage and they came into rescue with fighting wounds consistant with such circumstances. They have now been split up and are enjoying their own space for the first time. They are healthy, well socialized, and very friendly. Now all they need are homes to call their own. They will be attending the CHA show on May 31, and are available for adoption now. Please contact NICHOLE for details. |

The following rats and mice are currently in Recycled Rodents Foster Homes located in Southern California. Many of them will be traveling to upcoming AFRMA events. We are sorry, but due to the complications involved we can not ship animals to other areas. Long distance placements will be considered if potential adopters are willing to meet with the animals current caregiver, and make appropriate arrangements for transporting their new family member home. See our "other rats and mice in search of new homes" link for animals in other areas. If you do not see any rats/mice that interest you, please fill out or application. We will be happy to let you know when we do find your perfect new friend. |

Every year many rats and mice are put to sleep in shelters and rescue is helpless to assist due to a lack of foster homes. Could you help save a life? |
The Ventura Shelter frequently has small animals turned in. Their staff are wonderful about trying to find good homes for these little guys. While we try to keep the information on this site current, animals come and go so frequently that it is very easy for them to have animals not listed here. Please call them and ask about possible animals in need of homes. |
